Bobbi Brown Skin Long Wear Weightless Foundation Review

Someone asked me quite recently what sort of makeup products I liked. My unhesitating answer was "Base Makeup". By this, I don't mean "base" as in "primer", merely "base of operations makeup" as in everything that goes on your peel as a base. This could well include primer (although that isn't something I'g keen on) simply my primary focus is on foundation, concealer and perchance, pulverisation.

Needless to say therefore, that any new foundation or concealer launch has my ears pricking upward.

One such newbie is the Bobbi Brownish Pare Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF15 PA++ (What a mouthful!) This one promises full coverage and oil-costless shine control. Information technology says so correct on the canteen!

Now, I was a little wary. You lot see, the production comes in a frosted bottle. It too says "long-wear" and so talks further near "shine control". For someone with drier skin like me, these are all clanging warning bells. Information technology usually makes me retrieve of thick, drying textures, settling into fine lines, and a matte finish on skin. A look I practise Non go for.

Which is why I was left pleasantly surprised! 😀

The Bobbi Brown Peel Long-Clothing Weightless Foundation is none of the above. The packaging is faultless, really. It is elegant, and comes with a pump, equally all liquid foundations should. What I specially like virtually this pump is that it is smooth and piece of cake to control. Why this is important is because you don't demand very much product.

At present, it claims to offer full cover. Only I beg to disagree. At best, I'd say that this offers medium coverage, simply buildable to a heavier coverage, if necessary. It doesn't offer every bit full a coverage as another foundations I've tried. Just that's not a bad thing, unless you want something with total coverage. My preference lies with a sheer-to-medium coverage product, so this was fine by me. I actually utilize quite little product.

The texture is smooth and easy to spread. Important, because I employ just a piffling (about half a pump for my whole face) to achieve a lower coverage. If y'all want something with higher coverage, I'd suggest the Bobbi Brown Skin Nourishing Glow Foundation. I love that 1, and the coverage is much higher than this.

I wear the shade Porcelain, which looks a tad light in the swatch to a higher place, but which is really a practiced match for my skin tone. Incidentally, I wear Warm Porcelain in the Pare Nourishing Glow Foundation, which also works. So I'grand not sure how that is possible, but information technology is LOL!

Just comparison the swatches above, I'll tell you lot that the Bobbi Brown Pare Long-Wear Weightless Foundation has the lightest, and most emollient texture of the foundations I've shown. It feels like a lotion, and isn't thick at all. In fact, it lives upward to its name – weightless.

I put this to the examination in the nigh harrowing of circumstances – during the Chinese New year's day. This year, the weather was cruel. Information technology was burning hot all twenty-four hours, every day, and we had to be out and about in that scorching weather. Sweat was quite literally dripping down my hairline and my neck, and I was melting in the oestrus.

But my makeup stayed looking pretty much perfect. My base was this Bobbi Brownish Skin Long-Wear Weightless foundation. It stayed put, it did not cook, it did not turn oily (although it did permit some shine through) and information technology was comfortable. It felt like zero on my pare, which is and then of import!

The added benefit (which is why this chosen a "foundation") is because it held up so well as a base, my makeup that went on – blush and some good for you glow powder – held upwards as well. I was impressed and I remain impressed every single time I employ information technology, albeit in less harrowing circumstances.

Here'south the other matter I similar – its coverage.

I did say above that this isn't quite every bit full coverage a foundation every bit it'd make us believe. Just the coverage is sufficient that I tin can go away without having to use a concealer. I simply layer on a footling more foundation where I demand it, and I'chiliad good to go!

In the earlier-after shot above (unedited, as they all are) y'all may see what I mean. It has evened out my skin tone, covered up shadows around my eyes, done a valiant endeavor with my hyperpigmentation, and withal does not await cakey or heavy. Even up close, it doesn't requite off that heavy, flat, matte finish, and offers a natural smooth, as you may find.

I do however notice that it applies best using my fingers. While I normally use my liquid foundations with a castor, I found that in this instance, using my fingers immune me to become a more natural finish, and employ less product. If I want to add some oomph to this, I add together a touch of the Bobbi Brown Pink Glow Illuminating Moisture Balm, and it gives a crazy glow to your peel. I walk by a mirror each time I use this combination, and remember "Damn! I look bloody expert!" Because hey, you gotta dear yourself LOL 😀

I have enjoyed using Bobbi Brownish foundations, and this 1 is definitely a keeper.

IN A NUTSHELL

The Bobbi Chocolate-brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation doesn't have equally total a coverage as the bottle implies. Nevertheless, it has good coverage, and doubles up every bit a concealer and colour corrector, then you can even skip using those if you want. I like the texture, which is quite emollient and feels like a lotion so it spreads hands. I exercise find it to accept medium coverage, only buildable on areas where you need it. Layering doesn't go far expect heavy or cakey, and it quite literally feels weightless on the pare. The best part is that it is long-wearing, without being drying on your peel every bit most long-wearing foundations are. This feels very comfy on skin, and stays put for hours, even if yous sweat buckets. You may be a damp, sweat-stained wreck, but at least your makeup will wait pretty much perfect 😀

PROS: Wide shade pick, Sensitive pump allows you to dispense the right amount of product you demand, Easy to alloy on skin, High coverage and doubles up equally concealer, Not drying, Feels lightweight on skin, Very long-wearing fifty-fifty in hot and humid conditions

CONS: Tin can be a little pricey (I'thousand nitpicking – I couldn't find a con 😛 )

WHO WILL LIKE THIS: Anyone who wants a long-wearing foundation that is non drying or heavy on peel, Anyone who wants a medium-to-full coverage foundation that feels lightweight going on

Do note that it contains dimethicone, for those sensitive to silicone, but it does not accept a heavy silicone feel to the texture. It as well contains SPF15 which I personally feel is insufficient (always use a split sunscreen!) merely people often disagree with me 😀

Practise you generally prefer high coverage foundations? I personally prefer lighter textured and lighter coverage bases. I strive to look nice, but I'm realistic and don't strive to await perfect 🙂 This is a skilful one, if you're in the market place for a foundation. Practise check it out!
